FRONT PAGE!

It doesn't happen often...but I am on the Front Page of Etsy right now, and it's prime time on the West Coast! The keyword is "romantic", and I'm happy that one of my new locket necklaces was chosen.

Etsy Front Page Sunday

It's a rare occurrence, but my shop was on the Front Page of Etsy for an hour very early this morning (or late last night). The "Dark Romance" theme pops up from time to time, and I was in this Admin-curated group once before, with this necklace that has over 2000 views. It's a favorite of mine, the Steampunk Romance Necklace, because of the sweet cherry red Victorian sequin sew-on beads that have so much candy-like appeal. They're like little translucent red hots. Do they make that candy anymore?

Etsy Front Page Thursday

Front Page last night on Etsy, but I was in bed and found out this morning. The featured item was "Mrs. Danvers' Romantic Gothic Necklace", here.

Very nice to see this on a day when my computer has had a meltdown and I am without one - I'm at the library and am hoping I can upload this widget!

Front Page Sunday

In the wee hours, just happened to be awake and online, checking into craftcult.com, and saw a sudden burst of shop hearts. Curious, I checked the Front Page on Etsy, and there I was in wonderfully witchy-looking assemblage chosen by administrators to s search term of "Black Lace." My recently re-listed Arsenic and Old Lace Necklace, made from vintage celluloid hat "feathers", was chosen. I had dinner the other night with a colleague and was wearing this piece, made from similar "feathers", which he recognized from an ancient trim store that we both frequent. He mentioned that he also had a small cache but had never figured out what to do with them, as they break easily if used on a hat, their original purpose. Well, now I am using them in jewelry, and they're stunning in all of their shiny spikiness.

A Little Bit of Promo-ing Here

I had a nice surprise tonight - I was in a Treasury that was on the Front Page of Etsy - and a really lovely one, too, curated by HeartFelt Vintage.

I am also a Spotlight artist on Shop N Blog. This blog is by Mem's Pocket Palette, who I got to know at 1000Markets, where we both have shops. Mem generously goes out of her way to feature fellow artists, something that has to happen more often here. If you love animals, there's another reason to visit Mem's blog! Mem is talented in many media and her shop is full of some simply stunning work!

Front Page Love

Recently, Etsy Admins have been creating their own Front Page Treasuries by typing in search terms and posting the results. It's creative and gives a chance to sellers to get on the FP in a way that's more random. Maybe. It's still tough.

I don't get there often myself, but this red necklace was included. It's a pretty Treasury, anyway. :)

Second picture down...On The Spot, by Band Geek, was on the Front Page of Etsy in the wee hours this morning!

I woke up yesterday to the sight of new treasuries on Etsy that I was featured in, which is always a welcome marketing aid. I don't always sell what's featured, and was even on the Front Page of Etsy three times a week or so ago and didn't sell any of those items. I don't get on the FP that often, but I have always sold the piece, whatever it is. The view increase is amazing, though - one item went from 200-something to over 800 in the almost-hour that it was visible.

I'm always amazed that people can think up such interesting Treasury themes, day after day. I can't think of anything new to do anymore that hasn't been done already many times over, so when I snagged a Treasury West slot a month or so ago, I used it to thank the curators who featured me lately.

I'm an alternate in the last one, greyed-out little star and thus not visible to anyone but the Curator, but I though it was such a gorgeous and melancholy list that wanted to include it. The only thing I can think that she could choose from my shop are the mismatched key earrings.
